ZDFtivi-App – Kinderfernsehen 3.6.1

Reach the ZDF children and youth program on the go

The ZDFtivi app provides access to a variety of popular children's series and films from the ZDFtivi and KiKA programs. Like all ZDF online offerings, the ZDFtivi app is ad-free, without in-app purchases, and free of charge.

The app is available for smartphones, tablets, and Android TV.

ZDFtivi app for smartphone and tablet

• Wide selection of public service VOD content, including classic children's television shows (such as Löwenzahn, 1, 2 or 3, logo!, PUR+), successful series (such as Mako - Mermaids of H2O, Boys' WG, Girls' WG, Bibi Blocksberg, JoNaLu, My Friend Conni, Maya the Bee, Heidi), fairy tales, and children's films
• Offline viewing: Almost all children's program content can be viewed offline. Videos can be saved for longer journeys and watched without an internet connection.
• Create a profile for each child: Easy to switch between profiles within the app, without registration or login.
• Age-appropriate access: Choose between ZDFchen mode (content for children up to 6 years old) or ZDFtivi mode (all content without restrictions).
• Parental area: Set app usage time limits, edit and delete profiles (multiple profiles per device possible), and adjust privacy settings.
• Chromecast feature
• Watchlist: "My ZDFtivi" or "My ZDFchen" contains the watchlist and pre-saved content and shows for offline viewing. New content for bookmarked shows is automatically displayed in "My ZDFtivi".

• Accessible settings: Choose to automatically play all videos with subtitles, audio description, or German sign language (if available)

Required access permissions

• Phone: For offline mode of the app
• Phone status/ID: To read the Android version of the device (for Chromecast)
• Network status/Wi-Fi status: For Chromecast and to display offline mode
• Display over other apps: Required for Chromecast
• Prevent standby mode: Prevent the app from going into standby or activating the screensaver while playing a video

General information

• The ZDFtivi app is free, ad-free, and without in-app purchases, like all ZDF online offerings.
• The app is a safe environment for children. Optional comments are reviewed and moderated by the ZDFtivi team before they are approved.
• For usage outside of Wi-Fi, a data plan is recommended to avoid high connection costs.
• Due to legal reasons, some programs from ZDFtivi can only be accessed online as videos in Germany or the German-speaking region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) (geoblocking).
